A straight in Texas hold'em is a five-card hand consisting of consecutive ranks with mixed suits. It ranks above three of a kind and below a flush in standard hand hierarchies. If all five cards share one suit, the hand counts as a straight flush instead, which ranks far higher. Straights are formed when community cards connect to create sequential values.
