Straddle

An optional blind raise posted before the deal, usually twice the big blind.

In depth

A straddle is an optional blind raise made before the cards are dealt, typically equal to twice the big blind. Unlike the mandatory small and big blinds, it is a voluntary bet that increases the initial pot size without viewing one’s hand. Posted pre-deal, it functions as both an additional blind and a raise to the baseline wager.
