Early position

The first seats to act preflop, requiring the tightest opening ranges.

In depth

Early position in Texas Hold'em refers to the seats required to act first before the flop. Due to limited information and the risk of facing raises from later positions, these seats demand the tightest opening hand ranges. This positional disadvantage contrasts with later positions, where broader ranges become more viable.
