**Re-entry** in poker tournaments allows a player who has been eliminated to register again as a new entry in the same event. This involves paying another buy-in and receiving a fresh starting stack, typically permitted only during a designated re-entry or late-registration period. Unlike rebuys (for active players) or standard late registration (for first-time entrants), re-entry treats the returning player as a completely separate participant.
