Bottom pair

A pair made with the lowest card on the board.

In depth

**Bottom pair** is a hand formed by pairing the lowest-ranking community card with one of your hole cards. For instance, on a board of K-9-5, holding a 5 creates bottom pair. It represents the weakest paired category on the board, below top and middle pair, and typically holds limited showdown value due to its vulnerability to stronger holdings. The term helps players evaluate relative hand strength in context.
