The small blind is the smaller forced bet in Texas hold'em, posted by the player immediately to the left of the dealer button. This mandatory wager initiates the pot before cards are dealt, working alongside the big blind to structure pre-flop action. As the first position to act post-flop, the small blind carries a positional disadvantage despite its lower cost.
