Understanding Equity

Equity is a hand's expected share of the pot, based on its probability of winning at showdown against an opponent's range. Equity is a probabilistic concept, not a guarantee for one hand. The hand-equity table shows exact equities for common matchups, computed by exhaustive enumeration.
