Starting Hand Selection

Starting hand selection is the study of which two-card combinations tend to perform better over the long run. Hand strength is relative to the number of opponents and to position. Premium pairs and high suited cards are generally classified as strong, while disconnected low cards are classified as weak. The concept describes tendencies, not rules for any single hand.
